ethowear was born from a simple realization: the athletic wear industry has become overwhelmingly dependent on synthetic, petroleum-based materials that harm both our bodies and our planet.

Every time we wash polyester or nylon activewear, thousands of microplastic fibers are released into our water systems. These microscopic particles end up in our oceans, are consumed by marine life, and eventually find their way into our food chain and even our bodies.

But it doesn't have to be this way. Natural fibers like merino wool, organic cotton, and hemp offer incredible performance benefits (often surpassing their synthetic counterparts) while being completely biodegradable and renewable.
